About Me

Hey, my name is Sarah Jamaly, born and live in Wuppertal Germany. My mother comes from Poland and my dad comes from Persia. They both showed me to fight for what you love, for what you want to reach in life and make dreams come true.

From childhood I loved speed and adrenaline.

At home, there were always strict rules. My parents taught me if you want something in life you have to reach it on your own so I start earning my own money at 16 to get my driver license at 18. After I wanted to drive the car with my parents, which was an old golf polo in red. They told, if I want to drive a car, I have to buy me my own one.

So I started working hard in a home for eldery people and bought me at 18 a new red Fiat Seicento. I was so proud of myself to be the only pupil driving with her own brand new car to school which felt almost like a gokart.

Looking for chances to get on the race track I worked as a grid girl at the Formula 1 Race 2013 on the Nürburgring. Vettel won that race, then called the Grand Prix of Germany. It was the time when models were allowed to stay on the race track holding the numbers the starting grid. This was my first moment being close to the formel cars, staying on the race track, smelling the gasoline and the gum of the hot wheels. 10 years later in 2023 I went to an ice race in Finland organized by Uwe Nittel. I met Sebastian Vettel by chance again. I told him what a pleasure it is as a racer to meet such a hero from the race track again. He turned around, smiled and asked me what I drive. “Van Diemen”. You could see the fire in his eyes when he told me with a smile “H-Schaltung”. I told him that I was once a grid girl on the race track holding his number and now having the luck sitting with passion in a formula car.

It's a memory I cherrish a lot.
